De Belgische startup O-BOY heeft een horloge ontwikkeld dat overal ter wereld via satelliet alarmsignalen sturen. De ceo van O-BOY, Hadrien Dorchy, kwam op het idee nadat hij bijna was verdronken tijdens het windsurfen.

After four years of R&D and in close collaboration with imec and the European Space Agency, the O-BOY is ready to see the light of day and launches on Kickstarter.

Adventure seekers are often stuck up in situations where they may have to send out a rescue or evacuation message to their peers/rescuers. There are many devices that can help in precarious situations but what if you’re stranded in a no-network zone?

When not needed for rescue purposes, the watch simply displays the time of day on its digital Gorilla Glass screen. If the user gets in trouble, though, they can summon help in one of two ways.
